Description
While playing around in my paint room I thought if this were Goopy enough I could do a lot of fun stuff with this. So I called the Chemist and we developed GOOPY PAINT! There are many uses for GOOPY PAINT but one of the main uses will be a Primitive Distressed look. GOOPY PAINT can also be used for a raised embossed finish on furniture or any wood product.
Always be sure to start with a clean dry surface. For interior use you will not need primer as Old Village Paint is Highly pigmented and will hold up superiorly to most modern day paints. When surface is questionable please use our ‘Over & Under Acrylic water based Primer’ #1738 White or #1735 Gray. This can even be used over oil paint.
Primitive Distressed Look
- -Paint your GOOPY PAINT on your chosen surface and just goop it up! Let it dry Goopy. (2-4 hours)
- -Paint any Old Village Buttermilk or Vintage Paint colour you choose on top and allow to dry. (Thin top coat with distiller water for easier sanding.)
- -Sand gently to reveal the high point of the GOOPY PAINT.
- -Wax (if desired) with Schrack’s Cream Wax either Dark Brown or Clear. Or Antique with Old Village Brown or Black Antiquing Liquid.
- -For a more polished look you can finish with one of our Graining and Glazing Liquids.
Raised Embossed Finish
- -Spray stencil adhesive to the back of the stencil and firmly press the stencil to the area you wish to emboss.
- -With a spatula scoop out some goop and carefully apply it to the stencil to fill in all the openings to the edges.
- -Let it settle for a few minutes then gently remove stencil and let it dry.
- -Paint any Old Village Buttermilk or Vintage Paint colour you choose on top and allow to dry.
- -Sand gently to reveal edges of your embossing.
- -Wax (if desired) with Schrack’s Cream Wax either Dark Brown or Clear. Or Antique with Old Village Brown or Black Antiquing Liquid.
